Ho Chi Minh City - Phan Thiet, Vietnam - Day 36 - 07/04/2010

We depart in the morning for 2D1N trip to Phan Thiet.  A short stop for breakfast ( Baguette and sunny side up eggs) and soon we resume our journey. Journey was shorter as compared to Dalat.

We visited Ta Cu Mountain Tourist Site, We had to take cable car to reached the peak of the mountain. Cable rides was scary(I'm no fan of great heights). Sole purpose was to visit Linh Son Truong Tho pagoda,  it is famous for the 49m long statue of reclining Sakiyamuni Buddha. Foreigners don't really flock this site. Somewhat only Vietnamese tourist visits. We had to climb various flights of stairs, which proves to be tiring, just to reach the Buddha statue. But the view was worth it. We had lunch after descending down the site.

Reached Phan Thiet in the late afternoon and checked into Sunny Beach Resort. In the evening, we visited the scenic Mui Ne Sand dunes. This is one of the best places to view beautiful sunset. LIvely with tourist of all sorts. The beaches here are wonderful. We tried out the mineral mud bath in the late evening. Dinner was at a local restaurant serving Northern Indian Cuisine. Like Nha Trang, there's a lot of dining places here
.
No visit to Phan Thiet would be complete without venturing into one of it's nightclub. Partied till 3 in the morning before retiring to bed.
